Purple shows earned experience; blue shows the rested bonus. If completed quests are in your quest log, the Compass tells you whether turning them in is enough to level up.
XP and quest log are included starting with addon version 0.4.8.
Know where your point will go before you level up, following the talent plan for your build.
You can save up new ranks for a trainer visit, but not a new ability. The Compass shows what has become available since your last visit and at which level another trip is worthwhile.

Use the Windows key and an arrow key to snap the browser to an edge of the screen. In a half-screen window, the Compass panels sit side by side. In a quarter-screen window, less important information is hidden first so you do not have to scroll.
